Henok Goitom who at 36 years is having another amazing season in the Swedish Premiere league scored a beautiful goal against Hammarby to put AIK in solid 1st place. After a close match throughout the entire game Goitom found the net after a crisp pass from Tarik Elyounoussi. It was a perfect pass as Goitom was aware of where to place it as he slammed home his 11th goal of the season.
With 49,000 + fans at Tele 2 arena in Stockholm screaming loud, Henok Goitom continues to impress his fans as he may one day end up being the Swedish legend with Eritrean roots. Here is the youtube link showing his excellent 11th goal of the season.
Two other Eritreans faced each other in the Allsvenskan as Eritrean Tesfalidet Tekie's Östersund FK took on Mohamed Saeid's Sirius in a close game that ended with a 1-0 win for Ostersund FK.
Mo Saeid made a move from the MLS where he played with the Columbus Crew then a short stint in Minnesota and ended up with the Colorado Rapids. He was considered a solid midfielder as his pass rating in the MLS was always on top. Mo's parents originally from Agordat Eritrea left for Saudi Arabia in 1975 after a huge massacre took place by the then Ethiopian regime. Mo was born in Sweden where he started to play soccer at the age of 5. He then went on to join the youth Academy of West Bromwich Albion and the rest was history. He recently joined Sirius after another ver short stint with Lyngby of Denmark.
Meanwhile, many of you may have been following Eri-International sports as Tesfalidet Tekie was traded to Gent of the Belgian first league 2 years ago. He was not used properly by the Belgians as he sat idle despite some incredible talent in his ball handling skills. He eventually was traded to Ostersund last spring as he quickly made an impact playing against Arsenal in the UEFA cup where his team lost a game and won a game that eliminated them from the cup running. Eri-International sports recommends that along with Henok Goitom, Alexander Isak, Tesfalidet Tekie and Mohamed Saeid all should come together to help form the nucleus of what can be a great Eritrean national team.
